In the quest to become a doctor,
Many medical students apply,
To residency programs far and wide,
To see where they might ply.
They spend countless hours on ERAS,
Submitting forms and scores,
And though the process may seem endless,
They do it all for their future cures.
They’ll brag about their Step 1 score,
And their letters of recommendation,
But what they really hope for,
Is to avoid a harsh rejection.
They’ll try to tailor their CV,
To the residency of their dreams,
Hoping their unique experiences,
Will make them stand out it seems.
But alas, the process can be brutal,
And the competition fierce,
So they’ll cross their fingers and pray,
That their hard work will finally pierce.
And if all else fails, they’ll take solace,
In the fact that they’ve come so far,
For they’ve already accomplished so much,
As they strive to become the next great doc star.
Al poems aside, I have done that, I have applied, and I was accepted. My goal is to help as many other people get their match! Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.
