The Exam

The United States Medical Licensing Examination, the USMLE, is a multi-part professional exam sponsored by the Federation of State Medical Boards and the National Board of Medical Examiners.  Medical doctors with an M.D. degree are required to pass this examination before being permitted to practice medicine in the United States.  

The exam assesses your ability to apply knowledge, concepts, and principles, and to determine fundamental patient-centered skills that are important in health and disease and that constitute the basis of safe and effective patient care. Examination committees composed of medical educators and clinicians from across the United States and its territories prepare the examination materials each year.

Off-The-Shelf Assistance

If you are planning to take the USMLE, you're confronted by a vast array of offers to help you prepare.  There are on-line courses, classroom courses and even courses where you work with residents one-on-one.  Most of these choices have two characteristics in common:  they are expensive and they follow a pattern set by the people who offer them. 

If you choose one of these providers, you will be locked into an approach that's for someone's idea of what everyone needs, instead of an approach tailored for your particular needs.

This site pesents a different approach.  You can be tutored by a physician with years of experience, who has a record of success in USME preparation.  The tutoring will be tailored to your spefic needs, so that you don't have to spend a lot of time on things you already know well just because someone put them into a curriculum. 

In addition, your tutor, Dr. Josh Grossman, is a licensed physician, and is not trying to build a huge business.  So you aren't paying the cost for a fancy office and a receptionist and all that goes with it.  Your costs will be modest, and the cost you do incur will all be associated with work in areas where you need it.
